Oregon Open: Dart Boards, Raffle Items and Volunteers, Oh My!!!
Another key ingredient to the success of the Oregon Open is the participation of our member players and out-of-town friends in helping make it an enjoyable event for everyone.
Dart board sponsors: For the past few years, everyone of our roughly 40 boards has been sponsored each year. That means that all of the boards we buy for the tournament have been bought by a player, team or sponsor bar. They get their name or logo displayed next to the board, get a great board for a great price, and maybe get to take home a board with some killer tournament mojo to practice on. 🙂
It is worth noting that the reason this has been increased from $50 in previous years to $55 is that we’ve switched from the Nodor Supawire boards to the Supamatch boards. These are the boards with the thinner wires, no staples and are arguably a better deal for your money for just $5 more.
Raffle Items: We will continue to try to have a ton of items to raffle off. Some will be small, fun items and others might be more major prizes. If you have an item to donate to the raffle, or want to help gathering items, spreading the word or helping run the raffle at the event, please let us know!
Volunteer your time: One of the ultimate ways to help this event is to literally help out with the event. There is no shortage of ways to help us during the setup, tear down or marathon experience of running the tournament. We can use people to staff the tournament/signups/raffle tables. We will try to be implementing flight managers or people to run each “lane” of dart boards at the tournament.
There are a a lot of ways people can help us, and everyone else, make this a great tournament and one of our best Oregon Opens yet!
If you’d like to be involved in any way, please contact Jason Pitzer (jason@portlandareadarts.com) or Isaac Rochester (isaac@portlandareadarts.com).
