Portland Open Results
The weekend is over, the matches have been played and the results are on their way to the ADO headquarters! A big thank you to everyone who came out and played, and especially to those who came out and helped!
I apologize in advance for any misspelled names. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know if I spell your name wrong, and I will correct it here and try to get it right in the future.
Before I get into the details of winners and everything, I want to thank everyone who helped. This effort could not have been pulled off without the work that everyone put in! This is no doubt an incomplete list, and others will be added to it as I remember and people remind me.
Blind Draw – Friday Night
We had a fantastic turnout for the blind draw on Friday, with 42 total people showing up to play! We had 21 teams and 4 round robin flights – not to mention some good darts and a WHOLE LOT of fun!
Coming out of the flight, Bud Elzea and Kathy Collins beat Kevin Johnsgard and Craig Boughton. Tony Howe and Ken Glenn lost to Clay Carney and Tom Harrison. Mike Due and Ian Griffiths made it past Greg Haggan and Melissa Johnsgard. Patrick Kithi and Bill Schultz were a tough team to beat, and they beat Sam Tucciarone and Adam George.
In the semi-finals, Mike and Ian fell to Patrick and Bill while Clay and Tom got by Bud and Kathy. Bill Schultz and Patrick Kithi were the winning team, when all was said and done in the finals. Some great darts thrown by all!

There were a number of highlights over the weekend. Some were figurative highlights and just amazingly fun moments and others were literal dart highlights that people threw during competition. Here is an incomplete list of the latter, as I know there are some that did not get recorded:
Chris Pfenninger – 149 out
Roger Christal – 135 out
Clay Carney – 116 out
Craig Boughton – 171 x3, white horse
Bud Elzea – White horse
Greg Haggan – 9 count
Once again, thanks to all involved with this weekend in any part. Thank you is also deserved to our hosts, the A&L Sports Pub for their service and hospitality as we turned half their enormous bar into darting mania for 3 straight days! I can’t wait to bring this back and make it bigger and better next year, as well as try to take this momentum into our our largest monthly shoots of the year, the PADA Turkey Shoot and the December Holiday shoot. Stay tuned for more local dart events and news, Portland darters!!!
