Portland Open 2011
After a few minor hosting delays, I’m happy to finally get info posted here about the 2011 Portland Open! I hope to see lots of you there for the darting fun! Here is the most basic of details:

You can think of this in a lot of ways like a mini-Oregon Open. We should see a high level of competition from our local PADA members, as well as some great shooters making their way here from out of town. The number of events, and of course the total payout, will be pared down, but we hope to be able to grow this event and make it bigger and better each year if we can! We’ll start this event off in Portland at our most central tournament-sized dart venue: The A&L Sports Pub.
The Friday event will be a big blind draw tournament, which will replace the weekly Friday tournament here for the week, and likely see a large turnout. This event will be FUN. For regulars of the Friday night draws, notice the start time of 7 pm rather than 8 pm, and the entry of $10.
On Saturday we will play all the singles events. Since this is an ADO-sanctioned event, these are the events that will earn ADO points for those interested. Women’s entries for singles events are $10 and entry fee for the men’s events is $15. These are Open Singles events, not requiring you be a PADA or ADO member, or requiring you qualifying.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PAYOUTS: We wanted very badly to host this tournament, but having it sanctioned by the ADO, we needed to guarantee a certain payout. We are starting this out right above the ADO minimum for sanctioned events at a $1000 guaranteed payout. We will however pay out 100% of event entries, so the PAYOUTS WILL BE INCREASED WHEN THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES IS ENOUGH TO COVER THE GUARANTEED PAYOUTS. This is for both singles and doubles events.
Saturday evening we will hold a Mixed Doubles event. This should be a fun event for not only couples, but any others who are around for the weekend or want to make this a fun, Saturday night event. This will start at 7 pm and entry is $20 per team.
To cap off the weekend, we will be hosting an ADO Regional Cricket tournament on November 6th. This will feature the winners of our (and other neighboring ADO-affiliated leagues’) last round of ADO Cricket Qualifiers. People who do not win qualifiers, are still able to play for an entry of $110. For every 8 entries in the Regional, the ADO will send one person to the ADO Cricket National Tournament held in Las Vegas early 2012.
