Substitute Players
As we seem to need some refreshers every season regarding the use of substitute players, here are a few reminders:
1) Subs can only be used if you are short of the 4 player minimum to field a team. You are NOT able to use a sub if your 5th or 6th player is absent, but you still have 4 players.
2) A player may only substitute twice during a season. Even if they fill in for two different teams, they can only sub twice. After the second use as a sub, the player must be a current PADA member and join the team. (remember that teams have a 6 player maximum.)
3) Subs must be cleared by a board member or division statistician. Even after a player being cleared as a sub, it is VERY IMPORTANT that any subs and their singles stats are posted in the match notes. As you may not be the winning captain entering results, it is also clearly important that any opposing team knows when a player is a sub.
4) Subs do not accumulate any highlights and are not eligible to vote for sportsman or receive sportsman votes.
Please try to follow these rules, as no one likes hold ups in scores being posted. This is one of the most commonly misused, ignored rules in PADA and causes a little bit of confusion and complaints every season.
